The simplest way to tell to use a specific editor is using theprolog flag editor, which can be set in the system or personalinitialisation file. Two values have a special meaning. If the valuestarts with a $, it is taken as the name of an environment variable,e.g., $EDITOR, thus following the Unix convention to use thisvariable for selecting an editor. The value pceemacs (default if XPCEis available) causes the internal Emacs clone to be used. Some examples::- setprologflag(editor, pceemacs).Use PceEmacs:- setprologflag(editor, wordpad).Windows: use wordpadIf the editor is not known to SWI-Prolog, it will open the file, but notlocate the editor to source-locations. To tell Prolog how to open a fileand jump to a specified line, add a clause to editcommand/2. Seethe example below.
Mar 27, 2011 In this video i will show you, how to download, install & use SWI- Prolog & its Editor SWI-Prolog: SWI-Prolog Editor. 4.4 Editor Interface. SWI-Prolog offers an extensible interface which allows the user to edit objects of the program: predicates, modules, files, etc. The editor interface is implemented by edit/1 and consists of three parts: locating, selecting and starting the editor. Any of these parts may be customized.
See for details.:- multifileedit:editcommand/2.editcommand(myedit, '%e -line=%d '%f'). Editing the personal initialisation fileOn Windows, using plwin.exe use Settings/User init file. From themenu. On first use it will ask you whether it should install the defaultprofile. Confirm this and edit the result. On systems using XPCE you can achieve the same from the SWI-Prolog helpwindow opened with the?- help.
Command. For non-windows users, see for how Prolog locatesits customisation files.
My swi prolog editor is not working correctly. Whenever i tried to consult a simple predicate, it will just returnconsult('C:/Users/Huan/Desktop/'filename.pl').By right it should prompt out the following message if the consult is successful:% library(winmenu) compiled into winmenu 0.00 sec, 20,952 bytes% library(swihooks) compiled into pceswihooks.
(etc, etc)For help, use?- help(Topic). Or?- apropos(Word).but am not even getting that. I i tried uninstalling both prolog and the editor, but still no luck.Any ideas on how to fix this?I used SWI Prolog 32 bit on windows 7 32bits. Thanks in advance.
